Karen Roy, M.S.
Karen Roy, M.S. is a Vermont rostered mental health counselor. She earned her master’s of science with a concentration in mental health counseling from Springfield College in 2016.
Karen works from a belief that the client/therapist relationship is enormously important allowing for a sincere and genuine therapeutic relationship to exist. She believes we all inherently want to live “authentic” lives and her approach encourages clients to have the courage to be that person. Karen believes in a holistic approach to counseling working with the mind, body and soul.
Karen uses an existential approach to therapy as well as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery, emotionally focused therapy, and feministic theory. Her clinical interests include assisting young adults through complicated life choices and eating disorders. Karen has worked in the college setting as a counselor as well as raised two young adults of her own.
She is a certified Touch for Health practitioner, Reiki I certified, and holds a certificate in Feng Shui. She incorporates these practices when appropriate. Her interests outside work include spending time with her family and friends, yoga, biking, hiking and leading a healthy lifestyle.
